SERMON ON THE MOUND!

Bring along a crew and join in our first live worship service in 4 months on July 12th at Skylands Stadium!

JULY 12th - 10:30am
skylands stadium
AUGUSTA, NJ

It's time to get together and celebrate Jesus!
All of us have been hungering for an opportunity to worship together & see one another... and we're all in need of a celebration!

On July 12th, we are going to do just that. With the guidelines and restrictions in place for the COVID crisis, there aren't many opportunities to do this, but because of the generous support of Skyland Stadium ownership and staff, we were able to find a way.

Skylands is a 4,000+ seat stadium with enough room to stay safe, distanced, and yet together to enjoy the first Emergence gathering since mid March. Even better yet, this is the first time in the HISTORY of Emergence where we are able to gather all of the campuses of Emergence together at one time, in one place.

This is going to be a very special day you won't want to miss. So, call up a bunch of friends, gather your family, email some co-workers, and invite some neighbors to what will surely be the greatest highlight of 2020 yet.

HERE'S WHAT THE DAY WILL CONSIST OF:

  • Our first live worship service since mid-March
  • A worship set from the Emergence Band
  • A sermon from Pastor Ryan Baitzel
  • Times for celebrating and honoring our medical workers, and other essential workers
  • Prayer for our country, communities, and church concerning current important issues like racial reconciliation
  • Prayer for our law enforcement officers and their families
  • Special guests
  • Concession stands and time after service to enjoy one another and have some food together
  • Goodie bags for the kids
  • A chance to see real, live humans!
  • Giveaways during the lunch time after
  • An unforgettable setting
  • Communion (without the exchange of plates/germs!)
  • A great memory as a church in a year needing some good memories!
9:30am - Stadium Plaza Opens, music and greeting one another (with distancing!)
10:00am - Doors Open
10:30am - Service Begins
11:45am - Service Ends
11:45am - 1:30pm - Concessions available, lunch together, giveaways & fellowship

GETTING THERE:

HEALTH & SAFETY

ALL YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED:

DO I NEED A TICKET TO GET IN TO THE SERVICE ON JULY 12TH?

You do not need a ticket to get in. Simply come to the service on July 12th--but don't come alone! Bring anyone you've ever wanted to have check out Emergence!

ARE WE FOLLOWING STATE GUIDELINES BY HOLDING THIS EVENT?

Yes! We have continued to follow state guidelines for all of our events, including this one. Currently, there are no limits of size on outdoor religious gatherings in New Jersey.

DO WE HAVE TO WEAR A MASK AT "SERMON ON THE MOUND"?

With the regulations in New Jersey changing for even outdoor events, we are encouraging people to wear masks out of care for one another. To that end, we are giving away Emergence bandanas to the first 1000 people through the doors on the 12th. Masks are required for anyone entering the restroom, as it is indoors.

WILL THERE BE MORE OUTDOOR SERVICES IN THE FUTURE?

WILL SERVICES BE SIMILAR TO OUR NORMAL EMERGENCE SERVICES?

WILL SEATS BE DESIGNATED/ASSIGNED?

That we can't answer yet! We'd love to see this day go really well and see a great interest in gathering together. If there is a real interest, we may add more opportunities!
Absolutely, but we're guessing it will be even more celebratory than usual, given that we haven't met in so long. It'll be a great week to invite someone out who has never experienced Emergence before.
Seats are not designated for Sermon on the Mound, but with the amount of space in the stadium, there shouldn't be a problem distancing and also getting the seats you need.

WHY ARE WE CHOOSING TO MEET IN SKYLANDS STADIUM?

SHOULD I LIMIT WHO I INVITE SO WE HAVE ENOUGH SPACE?

YOU MENTIONED CONCESSIONS WILL BE OPEN. CAN WE BRING OUR OWN FOOD FOR LUNCH?

Given our need for space, there are very few options that can permit us to have enough parking for everyone and enough space to distance. God opened a door at Skylands, and the ownership and staff have been amazing!
No way! People need the hope of Jesus now more than ever! This could be the very day that people you know and love come to know Christ!
For sure! If you'd like to bring your own food, you can. We are very grateful to be able to take advantage of the concessions, though, as well! Food will be available for purchase throughout the day.

WILL YOU BE BROADCASTING THE SERVICE ONLINE?

WHAT IF THE WEATHER DOESN'T COOPERATE?

YOU MENTIONED MEDICAL WORKERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS. SHOULD I INVITE SOME?

While we cannot stream the entire service, the sermon will be available online Sunday. The best way to make sure you get to experience this exciting event is to be there at Skylands Stadium on July 12th!
We'll be tracking with the forecast during the week heading into the 12th. If the weather looks like it will not cooperate, we are working on a rain date with the stadium. We would let you know if any changes or cancellations need to be made.
Yes! We are going to take some unique times of thanks and prayer for our country, our area, our church, our medical professionals, and our law enforcement officers. Please do extend invites to anyone you know who works in these fields.
